Stem Cells and Plastic Surgery

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), patients should be wary of claims regarding the efficacy of stem cells in plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures. While some studies have been conducted on stem cell use for nonsurgical facial rejuvenation, claims that they can be used for breast enlargement, facelift and other more advanced procedures are not backed by any scientific research and, in fact, run contrary to existing evidence on the efficacy of stem cells.
