Dr. Corey is now offering the new 410 Anatomic "Gummy Bear" Breast ImNatrelle® "Gummy Bear" Breast Implantplant

Allergan, Inc. recently received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market the Natrelle® 410 Highly Cohesive Anatomically Shaped Silicone-Filled Breast Implants for use in breast reconstruction, augmentation and revision surgery. The 410 has been the most widely used shaped implant by surgeons in Europe and Canada for the past 20 years.

But what is so different about these implants?

All silicone gel breast implants used over the last 15 years are termed "cohesive." Where the old implants of thirty years ago had silicone with the consistency of "syrup", these newer ones acted more like a true gelatin. Even when cut in half, these implants would retain their form. Because of this, they were given the nickname "gummy bear" implants, although they really were not that firm, and while these were a vast improvement from the previous implants, they could still show some visible rippling in thin patients.

However, the new Allergan Natrelle® 410 Silicone Breast Implant is a highly cohesive silicone breast implant that is truly form stable. These are even more cohesive than the implants currently used and seem to have now adopted the new "gummy bear" title or "gummy II" This new implant has an anatomic (tear-drop) shape with a shell much more resistant to folding, which means less than1% wrinkling and rippling.

The Natrelle® 410 shaped Gel offers several benefits:

  • No gel migration or leakage
  • Less capsular contracture
  • Less than 1% rippling or wrinkling
  • Shape stability regardless of position
  • Soft, natural feel

However these breast implants are not for everyone and finding the best implant for you depends on multiple factors , all of which Phoenix breast surgeon Dr. Corey will discuss with you in depth at your consultation.
