It would be irresponsible to suggest that a plastic surgery procedure alone could improve your health. However, it is absolutely true that many plastic surgery procedures can act as a springboard to a healthier and happier life by removing certain physical obstacles, improving range of motion, and producing a more toned frame. As we approach the New Year, perhaps now is a good time to start considering these procedures and how they can help you achieve a strong and healthy appearance just in time for next summer. Dr. Corey has extensive training and experience with body contouring treatments, allowing him to produce a look that is both natural and complementary to your anatomical features. However, these changes will not be permanent unless certain efforts are made on your part. Dr. Corey will discuss these efforts in greater detail during your time in our care to guide you towards those methods best suited to help you maintain your body contouring results.
Patients who undergo body contouring following weight loss surgery are more likely to maintain a lower Body Mass Index (BMI) over the long-term according to a newly published study. The study, based on ten years of research following multiple patients between the ages of 18 and 50 who had undergone laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, found that patients who underwent body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck and body lift maintained an average BMI of 24.6 percent.
