What is the Best Age for Breast Augmentation?

SERVING SCOTTSDALE, PHOENIX, GILBERT, MESA, CHANDLER AND ARIZONA

There is no single “best” age for breast augmentation. If you are over the age of 18 and unhappy with the size, shape, or profile of your breasts, Scottsdale breast augmentation surgeon Dr. John Corey can assess your frame, discuss your options, and help you decide the best time for you to undergo this procedure.

The decision to have breast augmentation is personal and should be based on your physical and emotional needs, not on your age. During your initial consultation, Dr. Corey will carefully listen to your concerns before discussing the pros and cons of breast augmentation at various stages of life.

The FDA does not allow silicone implants to be placed in women under the age of 22. If silicone implants are better suited to meet your needs, you may wish to wait until you are over the age of 22 for breast augmentation.

In addition, some incision and placement options can make things such as breastfeeding more difficult. If children may be a part of your future, it is best if you let Dr. Corey know so he can tailor your procedure to minimize risks. This is less of an issue for women who choose to have augmentation after they have finished having children.

If you would like to learn if now is the best time for you to have breast augmentation in Scottsdale, please contact Scottsdale breast augmentation surgeon Dr. John J. Corey to schedule your initial consultation and learn more about your options.
