The Importance of Board Certification

SERVING SCOTTSDALE, PHOENIX, GILBERT, MESA, CHANDLER AND ARIZONA

Plastic surgery is a very specialized field, and it is important to work with a surgeon who possesses the skills and experience necessary to deliver the beautiful results you deserve. By working with a board certified plastic surgeon, you can be confident that your doctor has demonstrated excellence in the field of plastic surgery.

In order to become certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a doctor must meet a series of demanding criteria, including:

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school
  • Complete an internship in general surgery
  • Complete at least five years of residency and advanced fellowships in plastic surgery at an accredited hospital
  • Pass rigorous oral and written examinations
  • Submit at least six months of before and after photos to a panel of board certified plastic surgeons for review and approval

While just about anyone can offer cosmetic procedures, only board certified plastic surgeons demonstrate such a comprehensive mastery of this specialized field. Your body is too important to trust to a less skilled and experienced surgeon.

Dr. John Corey is a board certified plastic surgeon serving patients in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. He received his board certification 20 years ago and has continued to pursue ongoing training in order to maintain the standards required for sustained certification.  As part of this training, Dr. Corey has studied in Rio de Janeiro in order to become familiar with the Brazilian approach to plastic surgery, which has helped him develop a broader aesthetic eye for analyzing the human form.

The results achieved by Dr. Corey speak for themselves. We encourage you to view our Before and After Gallery to get a better understanding of what can be accomplished during your procedure.
