The FDA has approved Juvederm® as the only hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that can last for up to twelve months. However, this does not mean that Juvederm will continue to provide results for one year. Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. John Corey has found that the duration of a single Juvederm treatment will be dependent on both where the product was injected and how your body responds to the treatment.
Because a single treatment will have different results for each patient, it is difficult to determine how often you will need a touch-up. However, it is safe to have repeat treatments as often as every six months.
Juvederm replenishes hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm is derived from humans, not animals, making it easily absorbable and completely safe for more frequent use.
