What is Venus Freeze?

Venus Freeze is a new treatment option designed to help firm and tighten areas of our skin that seem to have lost elasticity. These areas can be anywhere on our body and common spots are the neck, arms, tummy and thighs, although it can be used on the face as well. It can also help shape certain areas of our body by shrinking the fat in stubborn places and improving contour.

How does it work?

Venus Freeze uses Radio Frequency and Magnetic Pulse technology to create a thermal response in the skin. This does one of two things. First, the heat causes a repair process to occur in the skin which simulates new collagen formation and increased fibroblast formation, both of which tighten the skin. Secondly, when skin temperature is increased stress hormones are released and this causes the activation of the hormone, Lipase, which promotes shrinking of fat on a cellular level. There is no “freezing” involved! The only thing frozen is the aging process!!!

How is it done?

There is no surgery and no anesthesia required and no downtime! A gel is applied to the skin and a handheld transducer makes multiple passes over the target area. It’s like a gentle, warm massage and many patients actually sleep during the procedure. Most areas can be treated in less than 30 minutes, even during your lunch hour.

How many treatments are required?

Many people can start to see results even after 3 or so treatments but we recommend 6 sessions for the face and neck and 8 to 10 for the body.

Who is a candidate for Venus Freeze  and how dramatic are the results?

Well almost everyone is a candidate, but it seems to have the best results in people that need just a bit of skin tightening or fat volume reduction. These are individuals that may have a specific area that has always bothered them, but just doesn’t seem bad enough to go through the pain and expense of surgery. For larger areas or really loose, droopy skin, a more standard approach is probably needed. And Venus Freeze can help after those traditional treatments of Liposuction as well, to help smooth some out areas that may have slight unevenness.
