Surgical Boot Camp FAQ

Why do I need Surgical Boot Camp?

Safety is priority when it comes to plastic surgery. We want you to be as surgically safe as possible. Part of that is having a healthy BMI, or body mass index. Board-certified Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. John Corey has found that patients with a BMI under 30 have the best outcomes. When your BMI is above 30, you can have delayed healing, pulmonary embolism and other surgical complications.

I exercise and eat right but just can’t seem to lose the weight. How is Surgical Boot Camp different?

Surgical Boot Camp combines the expertise of licensed professionals to help you reach your ideal weight prior to surgery – with a combination of detoxing the body, eating foods based on your nutritional needs and finding the right workout program that works for your lifestyle. Using a holistic, or whole body approach to reach your healthy weight has been proven to work successfully.

Who are the experts that will be involved in my Surgical Boot Camp?

In addition to Dr. Corey, experts that will assist you in reaching your surgical boot camp goals include:

  • Andrea Piraino, Certified Holistic Health Coach

Andrea’s education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, preventative nutrition and gut health. Drawing on this knowledge, she will help you create a completely personalized "Roadmap to Health" that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences and goals

  • Anne Golden, AFFA Certified Personal Trainer and AFFA Certified Group Fitness Instructor

Anne believes it is important to have balance in all aspects of our lives. Sometimes it’s not easy, but with the right program, guidance and education, anything is possible. When working out, whatever modality, it so important that it is created to get you results, along with being fun, designed to get you moving, get your muscles active, engage proper form and technique, boost your metabolism and make you feel great about yourself

When is the best time to do Surgical Boot Camp?

Depending on how close you are to your ideal weight before surgery, three months before surgery is ideal. We would recommend you schedule your consultation with our coaches and get your plan into action as soon as you have a surgical date in mind.

Where does Surgical Boot Camp take place?

The great news is that there are options! You can meet with your coaches in the convenience of our office, at your home, or you can arrange a neutral setting with your coach. It’s that easy!
