Similar to dermabrasion, microdermabrasion is a powerful exfoliation that can:
- Minimize fine lines and wrinkles
- Smooth textured skin
- Remove surface scars
- Decrease pore size
- Reduce age spots
Unlike dermabrasion, microdermabrasion only exfoliates the outermost layer of skin, which can reduce risks and recovery time, but cannot produce identical results.
During your microdermabrasion consultation with Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. John Corey, he will assess your skin, listen to your concerns, and help you determine which method is best suited to meet your unique needs.
Results from your microdermabrasion treatment can last for six to twelve months, but may last longer depending on how well you take care of your skin after treatment. If you are looking for longer-lasting results, you may wish to consider dermabrasion or another skin rejuvenation treatment.
Dr. Corey recommends that you use professional cleaners and moisturizers, and always apply sunscreen before heading outdoors to help keep your skin looking soft and youthful. Lisa Damante RN MSN, our nurse injector and skin care specialist, will be happy to discuss proper skin care with you before and after your microdermabrasion treatment.
If you live in or around Scottsdale, Arizona and would like to learn if microdermabrasion is right for you, please contact Dr. John J. Corey today to schedule your initial consultation.
