Mastopexy with Implants

Mastopexy, also known as breast lift surgery, can have a significant impact on the appearance of your chest. By lifting sagging tissue and removing unnecessary skin, Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. John Corey can help produce a firm and youthful look to the bust. However, this procedure can also reduce overall breast volume and may even result in the reduction of a full cup-size after recovery. For this and other reasons, many women choose to combine mastopexy with breast implants.

When to Consider Breast Implant Revision

With modern implant options, breast augmentation can produce pleasing results for a number of years. However, the procedure is not considered permanent and, over time, you may begin to experience imperfections that become distracting or aesthetically unappealing. When this occurs, it may be time to call Phoenix breast surgeon Dr. John Corey at 480-767-7700 to schedule a breast implant revision consultation.

Reasons to consider breast augmentation revision include:

What is the Perfect Breast Shape?

“What’s the perfect breast shape?” That question was posed to a cross-section of 1,315 men and women who were then shown pictures of breasts and asked to rate them based on attractiveness. 87 percent of women and 90 percent of men agreed: the perfect breast has a ratio of 45:55 – 45 percent of the tissue above the nipple, 55 percent below. Among the pictures shown to respondents, the 45:55 ratio was the most natural, least enhanced looking option and the ratio chosen as ideal by 94 percent of plastic surgeons who participated in the study.

Breast Augmentation and Breastfeeding

Breast augmentation does not always interfere with breastfeeding, but certain breast enhancement options can increase your risk of complications. During your initial consultation with breast augmentation surgeon Dr. John Corey, be sure to honestly discuss your future plans for children, even if those plans are undecided. This will allow Dr. Corey to customize your breast augmentation procedure to help guard against breastfeeding complications.
